Insect Girl

While reflecting and working on my art piece called Everyday Molestation, I created this painting titled Insect Girl. I made this while recalling to the emotions I felt when I was a kid and was being slut-shamed because of my changing body. This type of sexual bullying very likely leads to sexual assault.
I felt small, weak and voiceless like an insect being played by humans. I just wanted to be reconsidered as a person. I was stuck with this “shameful” label that I hadn’t chosen for myself. And this, as a consequence, changes you, and you have to try and make sense out of what happened to you which so often is senseless.
